As a part of our long-term collaboration with TripleTen, we designed, developed and launched a widget for visually impaired and blind users upon a specific request from the Israeli team
The widget needed to incorporate functionality that interacts with the website content, which meant navigating the no-code limitations
For resolving this experimental task, we defined the steps – Research, MVP development, Design, Development & Integration. It allowed us research, experiment, and gradually solve technical issues emerging on our way.
To apply the best web accessibility practices to our product while working within the Israeli state regulations, we created a profound documentation of both
step 1
This step helped us take a closer look at the various web accessibility products, see a broader picture of design trends, and define some technical decisions for the upcoming development. It came hand in hand with the research of legal implications of digital accessibility – local and worldwide.
“This was an exciting journey of discovering a lot more about how the websites we create can be more useful, and how it can be done technically. This experience definitely influenced our team's vision of design and development.”

MVP development
By developing the MVP, we tested all the required features with the real content in Tilda to discover our limitations
step 2
It was important to check what could and could not be done, so we closely examined every feature that should have been integrated. However, as the Development & Integration step would show, some of the inherent no-code limitations slipped away from our attention.
Design
With the extensive research documentation and the MVP testing results, we started the design process
step 3
We used the specific TripleTen design guidelines for the widget UI, the best WA products represented on the market as reference points for the widget UX/UI. To provide the color modes (high and low contrast, monochrome), we used international web accessibility color requirements.
Development & Integration
With some unexpected challenges, we turned the MVP into the working tool, developing both the design and the complex functionality in GitHub
step 4
When developing for no-code, it is important to create a sustainable solution that does not interfere with platform updates. Sometimes compromises are necessary. One such compromise was finding a technical solution for zooming in and out of text. We found that it was impossible to zoom in on text elements without breaking certain parts of the site. So we decided to zoom in on all content elements. This functionality will require some adjustments in the future.
"We use Tilda to build landings, which means I can't change the fundamental code — there's no control over colors, margins, and hyphens. We had to look for compromises to meet web accessibility requirements and maintain the website design at the same time".

Quality assurance
By interacting with the website content, the WA instruments provide high risks to website usability in case of errors. Therefore, we paid extra attention to quality assurance at every stage
In the first step, we conducted a thorough QA of the market's dominant products and Israeli websites to gain a clearer understanding of the context. Quality assurance was especially crucial during the MVP stage to examine the site's internal configurations (such as DOM) and identify any shortcomings in the no-code approach. During the Development & Integration step, we prepared multiple bug reports to eliminate imperfections before launching the product.
“Testing the widget was a complex, multi-step process. We conducted numerous tests on various devices and browsers to ensure the widget functioned correctly under all conditions. Special attention was given to testing with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.”
The process of developing a website can present numerous challenges. We have complete trust in Curves as our long-term partner, given their ability to handle both small and larger tasks in a manner that aligns with our business goals.
